Company
A security review asks what the agents changed in the billing service last week. The answers sit in four agent tools, each with its own history, and the month’s bill cannot be split below the account. Oxagen, Inc. was founded in February 2026 to give the operators of those agents one place to do that job.
Your operators decide what each agent is responsible for, what it may do, and what it needs to work. Oxagen gives those decisions a home: an agent identity, a mandate for authority and budget, assigned tools and skills, and a record of governed activity. For actions routed through Oxagen, the agent asks, a rule your team wrote answers, and Oxagen records the answer with its cost.
Oxagen does not run agents. It wraps the ones teams already use, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Stella, through hooks installed beside the agent and a gateway for model calls.
The company is based in Los Angeles, California.
Founder
Mac Anderson founded Oxagen in February 2026 and is its CEO and principal engineer. He wrote software by hand for 16 years. In 2026 he decided that agents would write all of the code he shipped, and that his job would be to direct them, read their work, and decide what merged. The hardest part turned out to be managing the agents, and Oxagen is what he built to do that job.
Before Oxagen he co-founded Fonteva, which Togetherwork acquired in 2021, and founded inTown Technologies.
He tells the seven months from the first commit to the control plane, with the counts behind them, in Letting agents write the code on his own site.
Products
Oxagen is the agent control plane: identity, authority, budget, tools, and the record, in one place, for the agents a team is responsible for. It is sold to the security, finance, and engineering teams accountable for those agents.
Stella is the open source coding agent where this work started. It is AGPL licensed and free to run, works with any model, and takes your own API key. You use Oxagen when a team, not only you, is responsible for the agents.
